Reinstalling & Transferring Nomad eSIMs

This FAQ section provided a detailed information regarding the process of reinstalling and transferring eSIMs to other devices.

Nomad eSIMs offer the convenience of being reinstalled on the same or transferred to a different device after deletion. This allows customers to easily transfer their eSIM if they get a new phone or need to switch devices.

Nomad eSIMs allow a limited number of reinstalls (after deletion) for most of our providers.

Please note that an eSIM cannot be installed on two devices at the same time.

Below is the list of our providers who support reinstall and transfers:

  • Amber: Please delete the eSIM profile from the current device and re-install in the other device.

  • Green: Yes. Please delete the eSIM profile from the current device and re-install in the other device.

  • Blue: The eSIM can be installed 3 times, so customers buying a new phone can transfer the eSIM to their new phone. To be able to install the eSIM on a new device, the eSIM must be first deleted from the previous device. A

  • Sapphire: The eSIMs support re-installation to another devices but can only be done upto 3 times. Customers need to delete the eSIM from the previous device before attempting to re-install to the new device.

  • Jade: The process of reinstalling the eSIM is slightly different for Jade eSIMs. Customers are required to reach out to Nomad Support so that the eSIM profile on their current device can be invalidated, after which the customers can attempt to reinstall the eSIM using the QR code onto the new device.

  • Lilac: Customers can delete the eSIM profile from the current device and re-install in the other device.

  • Neon: eSIMs provided by Neon do not support reinstalls to the same or different device.

  • Plum: eSIMs provided by Plum do not support reinstalls to the same or different device.
