How to Return to or Access In-App Chat After Disruptions on the Nomad App

When using the Nomad app, you may encounter situations where you need to return to an ongoing in-app chat due to disruptions like restarting your device, taking a screenshot, or losing connection. This guide explains how to access your chat in different scenarios and highlights essential tips to ensure a smooth experience.

Returning to Chat After Restarting Your Device

  1. Reopening the App: After restarting your device, simply reopen the Nomad app. Your ongoing chat session will usually remain active and accessible. Conversations remain open unless explicitly closed by the support team.

  2. Using Chat IDs (if applicable): In certain cases, your chat may require a reference number or chat ID for resuming. Ensure you have the chat ID noted or use the notification link received via email to reconnect.

  3. Reassurance about Losing Chats: Restarting your device does not result in chat loss. Restart your device as needed and return to the app to continue the conversation.

Accessing Chat After Connection Loss

  1. If you lose your internet connection, you can continue your chat once you reconnect by accessing the original chat thread in the app.

  2. Conversations remain intact for a brief period (e.g., 10 minutes). If exceeding this time, start a new conversation, and reference your previous chat by providing the chat ID to the support team.

Leaving and Returning to Chat

  1. Performing Actions Like Taking a Screenshot: You can temporarily leave the chat to take a screenshot or perform another task on your device. Simply return to the Nomad app to pick up where you left off.

  2. Snooze Functionality: Chats can be snoozed while waiting for your response, ensuring that you can resume the conversation at a convenient time.

Key Considerations for Chat Continuity

  • Chats remain open unless terminated by the support team. To avoid interruptions, respond promptly when notified of any inactivity warnings.

  • Always note down any provided chat IDs or save any email notifications with chat links for easy reconnection.

  • If you're unable to access your chat immediately, starting a new chat and referencing older conversations will help support teams assist you better.

By following these steps, you can confidently return to your in-app chat whenever needed without losing important conversations.
