Transferring eSIM From A Lost Phone

Nomad eSIMs are one-time use and can’t be transferred. Lost your phone? Contact support to request a new eSIM on a case-by-case basis.

Nomad's eSIMs are a one-time use and cannot be transferred to a different phone. Additionally, eSIM balances, data, or plans cannot be transferred between accounts, users, or regions. This is due to the single-use nature of eSIM QR codes and the absence of a feature for exporting or transferring eSIM plans to another phone.

Once a Nomad eSIM is installed and activated on a device, it may not be transferred to another device. The QR codes for activation are single-use and may become invalid after the plan is enabled. This non-transferability applies not only to devices but also across accounts, users, and geographical regions. Such limitations are standard for travel eSIMs. Nomad also ensures that the activation process is streamlined to prevent misuse or unintended transfers, enhancing security and consistency for users.

Nomad allows refunds for unused eSIM data as Nomad Points. Each Nomad Point is equivalent to $1 USD. Points can be used for purchasing any eSIM plan except DTAC/TRUE Thailand plans. Nomad support team can update the validity of the Nomad Points upto 2 years on a case-to-case basis. These points provide flexibility and can be utilized immediately for setting up a new plan if required.

If your phone is lost, Nomad provides a straightforward refund process for unused eSIM data as Nomad Points. These Points can be immediately used to purchase a new eSIM plan, ensuring prompt response to such scenarios. Nomad's customer service through website or in-app chat remains available for additional support.

If the eSIM has not been installed or activated, it may still be used on a new phone. However, QR codes and activated eSIM profiles are non-transferable and cannot be reused on a new device once activation is complete. For further assistance, consider acquiring a new eSIM plan for your device. Another alternative is to purchase a new Nomad eSIM plan tailored to your region or usage needs, especially if switching devices or traveling to a different area.
