Nomad's eSIMs are a one-time use and cannot be transferred to a different phone. Additionally, eSIM balances, data, or plans cannot be transferred between accounts, users, or regions.
Once a Nomad eSIM is installed and activated on a device, it may not be transferred to another device. The QR codes for activation are single-use and may become invalid after the plan is enabled. This non-transferability applies not only to devices but also across accounts, users, and geographical regions. Such limitations are standard for travel eSIMs.
If unable to use your eSIM due to phone replacement or loss, you can request a refund in the form of Nomad points, equivalent to $1 USD per 100 points, which are immediately credited. Alternatively, you may consider extending your plan usage by adding specific data packages, such as 1GB or 3GB, which can maximize your remaining balance.
In the event where you lost your phone, a new eSIM may be issued on a case-by-case basis. Please contact customer service via our website chat or in-app chat on the iOS or Android app.
If the eSIM has not been installed or activated, it may still be used on a new phone. However, QR codes and activated eSIM profiles are non-transferable and cannot be reused on a new device once activation is complete. For further assistance, consider acquiring a new eSIM plan for your device. Another alternative is to purchase a new Nomad eSIM plan tailored to your region or usage needs, especially if switching devices or traveling to a different area.
