Delete an Expired eSIM From Phone

Updated over a week ago

How to Delete an eSIM from Your Device

Deleting expired or unused eSIMs ensures better device functionality and avoids confusion in cellular settings. Regularly managing your eSIMs helps maintain seamless connectivity and prevents unnecessary complications. Make sure you only delete the eSIM when you are no longer going to use it. Additionally, if possible, save the original QR code or credentials to reinstate it if needed in the future. Always ensure the eSIM is not actively in use before deletion to avoid connectivity issues.

You can remove your eSIM from your device from your device settings.

On iOS:

  1. Go to Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data.

  2. Click into the eSIM profile, and scroll down. You should see a "Remove Cellular Plan" button. Pressing this button will start an eSIM removal process within your Cellular Settings. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove your eSIM.

  3. If you see a notification, "Line No Longer Available" or "Update Contacts", select your primary line.

The record will be removed entirely from your phone.
