Can I delete and re-install my Nomad eSIM?

Updated over 6 months ago

The short answer is: Generally, no, you cannot transfer your eSIM to another phone, and you should not try deleting your eSIM in order to re-install it, unless otherwise instructed to do so by our support team.

The longer answer is: It depends.

eSIMs may be digital, but each has a unique identifier and in general, once installed on a user's phone, it is not possible to transfer them, and only sometimes possible to re-install them.

With some Nomad eSIMs, our providers do support limited functionality in terms of deleting and re-installing eSIMs, but only on the same phone. The state of technology at the time of writing is such that this process does not work reliably on all phone models. Please reach out to customer support if you are unsure. They may guide you to attempt this as part of troubleshooting - otherwise, never delete an eSIM unless explicitly instructed to do so by us.

If you have further questions, please contact customer support via website chat or the in-app chat.
