In most cases, your Nomad eSIM will automatically activate/start when it first connects to the local network. The eSIM can only be activated / started when you have arrived at your destination.
Keep a record of your ICCID or eSIM details for troubleshooting purposes.
Simply turn on your eSIM upon arrival at your destination to activate / start it. After enabling your eSIM, also activate 'Data Roaming' in your device's settings, then restart your device to ensure all settings are applied effectively. If you wish to avoid international charges on your primary SIM, consider disabling it or limiting its operations to voice-only mode.
On iOS:
Go to Settings > Cellular and Turn your eSIM on.
If required, update the APN under Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Network to match your provider's recommendation to establish a connection.
When you are ready to use your data, make sure “Data Roaming” is toggled on and you are selecting the Nomad eSIM for “Cellular Data”.
On Samsung:
Go to Settings > SIM Manager and turn your eSIM on.
Additionally, if necessary, configure your APN settings under Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names depending on the provider's requirements.
When you are ready to use your data, make sure you have selected your Nomad eSIM for mobile data and that roaming is enabled.
On other Android Devices:
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network, and turn on your eSIM on.
If the provider specifies, verify or update the APN under Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Access Point Names to the provided details.
When you are ready to use your data, make sure you have selected your Nomad eSIM for mobile data and that roaming is enabled.
In some cases, you may need to manually activate your Nomad eSIM. Please refer to your installation email for more details. In such cases, you will need a stable internet connection to activate your Nomad eSIM, so it is recommended that you do so before you fly. Activation can be done from the Manage Page of your eSIM on the Nomad App or Website.
If you still encounter connectivity issues, check whether your eSIM is enabled for mobile data and Data Roaming is toggled on. Confirm the APN configuration matches the provider's specifications and restart your device as a troubleshooting step.
