What is Foxtrail?
Before we delve into the details, let's take a moment to understand the fascinating concept behind the Foxtrail Adventure. The idea of Foxtrail was born in 2002 during a family visit to Lake Thun in Switzerland. It originated as a route tracing leisure activity for the family outing, with elements of scavenger hunting and puzzle solving along the way. Since then, it has gained popularity and expanded to many cities across Switzerland.
Today, not only is it an exciting recreational activity for families and friends, and a good choice for teambonding activities all over Switzerland, it is also an engaging way in which travelers can explore Switzerland.
How Does Foxtrail Adventure Work?
The Foxtrail Adventure is not your typical guided tour. Instead, it's a self-guided treasure hunt that requires you to solve clues, decode riddles, and follow a trail through the city. You will form teams of 2 to 8, and as a team, you will work through clues and puzzles in order not to lose the trail of Fredy Fox.
At the start of your adventure, you'll be provided with a booklet that contains the necessary clues and instructions. The clues will lead you from one location to another, and as you progress, you'll find new clues and riddles that will help you navigate through the city. Throughout the trail, as you enjoy the beautiful landscapes and visit places that you might otherwise not go, you will get chances to put your wit and creativity to the test. From deciphering cryptic messages to solving puzzles, each task will require you to think outside the box.
The trails are designed to challenge your problem-solving skills and test your ability to work as a team. Whether you're exploring with friends, family, or even strangers, it's a great opportunity to strengthen bonds, build trust, and create lasting memories.
With over 70 trails over Switzerland, each of them unique and having different trails and posts, it is a definitely a different way to explore the beautiful country.
