iPhone 15 and eSIM Technology

Similar to the iPhone 14, the iPhone 15 in the United States won't come with a physical SIM card slot. Instead, Apple is exclusively using eSIM technology. While some iPhone users have already adopted eSIM, as seen with the iPhone 14 last year, many users have yet to make the switch.

Apple highlighted the advantages of using eSIM technology instead of physical SIM cards during its event last year, emphasizing benefits like enhanced security since the SIM cannot be removed if the phone is stolen. However, in some countries, the adoption of eSIM has been relatively slow, and many wireless carriers still do not offer support for this technology.

For countries other than the United States, where iPhone 15 models still come with a SIM tray, it seems we may need to wait another year to see if Apple's ambitious plan to eliminate physical SIM cards gains traction in more regions.
